In 2017 Chaos Engine created evil art embracing the demonic nature of the festival Copenhell. To capture the audience attention, we knew the art piece had to be a good combination between rough and aesthetic, aligning with our clients vision of giving “all of that which you don’t get anywhere else”.
Skull Pyramid – Death In Motion
In the big hall of Burmeister & Wain (B&W) residing on Refshaleøen we made a three-dimensional stained glass sculpture of a skull. The B&W halls have been home to shipyards in more than 100 years until 1996. Therefore, the challenge was to embrace the hardcore theme of Copenhell while adhering to the historic scene.
We succeeded and Copenhell asked us to make a new exhibition for their festival in 2018, this time outside of the halls. We came up with the idea of creating a pyramid stand illuminating the disco skull by mounting 12 LED bars and 4 pinspots.
Using a DMX rotator, the skull could rotate in different directions and pace displaying death in motion.
